I am a Colorado native who dreamed of going into medicine while growing up in Denver. I just opened a new American Family Care (AFC) in Castle Rock. The urgent care facility is at 5700 New Abbey Lane in the King Soopers shopping center. It is the ninth independently owned AFC in the Denver metro area.
My path to medicine
I've had a passion for medicine since I was in about second grade. My parents moved to Denver in the late 1970s around the time of the Iranian Revolution. I was born here, and my entire family eventually moved to Denver.
As a child, I watched one of my grandparents cope with the long-term effects of a stroke. It was during this experience I realized I eventually wanted to figure out a way to help people get medical care.
Along the way, I was bitten by the business bug. While I started at the University of Colorado Denver as a pre-med student, I graduated with a business degree, a minor in marketing, and a triple minor in math, physics, and biology. I decided to join the family wholesale laundry and dry clean business with my dad.
It was at one of the dry-cleaning locations that I first discovered American Family Care. There is an AFC next door to our Centennial location. I started going there for health care, along with my wife and children. We loved it, and I realized this was the way I could live out my dream to help others.
The Castle Rock clinic
The Castle Rock community is in need of a facility like AFC. The area is growing so quickly and there is a shortage of health-care providers. All AFC clinics are designed, equipped, and staffed to provide accessible primary care, urgent care, and minor emergency treatment. The new Castle Rock AFC will serve patients seven days a week, and no appointments are necessary.
My hobby: My family
When I am not working, I dedicate all of my free time to my family. My lovely wife and beautiful three children have supported me through all the ups and downs and have helped me get to where I am today. I love spending time with my wife and three children as much as I can, and my hobbies and interests are honestly all what they enjoy. I spend so much time working that when I have free time, I love to support them with their hobbies and interests.
Someone once gave me a piece of advice that I will never forget, and I still follow this advice today: “Opportunities don't happen. You create them.” I do not wait for anything to happen and I proactively always work to better myself, better my businesses, and better my relationships with my family and friends.
