Highlands Ranch Metro District, Centennial Water seeking director candidates

Board elections scheduled in May

Posted

Highlands Ranch Metro District and the Centennial Water and Sanitation District are seeking candidates for the upcoming elections on May 2 for the respective boards of directors.

Both the metro and water districts will have three open board seats for four-year terms. The metro district’s open seats represent the north central, northeast and southwest director regions.

Registered voters of the metro and water districts can submit a self-nomination and acceptance form by Feb. 24 to run for the open board seats. The form to run for the water district board is available online at centennialwater.org/vote and the metro district’s form can be found at highlandsranch.org/government/board-of-directors/elections.

To be eligible for a water district board seat, prospective candidates must live or own property in the water district. Candidates for the metro district must live or own property in the director region they are running to represent.

Voters who would like to vote by mail can request absentee ballots by going to centennialwater.org/vote and highlandsranch.org/government/board-of-directors/elections. Absentee ballots must be requested by April 26. The water and metro district elections are two separate elections, so people wanting to vote by mail must submit an absentee ballot request form for each election.

Voters can also vote in person from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 2 at the Hendrick Office Building, 62 Plaza Drive, Highlands Ranch.
