I’m originally from Michigan but have lived in Castle Rock for nearly 11 years! I’m a mother to four amazing kids and wife to my best friend, Dan. I’m incredibly passionate about the outdoors, open spaces, wildlife, trail running and photography.
I am owner of Hernandez Photography and founder of the Forget Me Knot knit charity. My life is undeniably busy but I’ve created it to be that way! It is just my style to move and shake, enjoying life to the best of my abilities.
How I got started in photography
It is with great pleasure that I can say I’ve been photographing for seven years! My love for photography began after having my first child. Like many new moms, picking up the camera became a regular activity, but soon afterwards I realized that I wanted it to be much, much more. My career in photography has been a beautiful journey, beginning with family-focused photography and evolving into maternity through one year, in a division within Hernandez Photography that I now call Newborn’s Nest! I am also an outdoor enthusiast and photograph local wildlife and landscapes on a daily basis.
Why I love photography
I am incredibly passionate about wildlife, open spaces and the preservation of these natural gifts. Whether I’m photographing newborn babies or newborn owlets, I am using my lens as an extension of my heart. I am celebrating the simple things that bring us all joy. Sharing that joy with others increases the quality of my life and, as always, I’m filled with thankfulness.
