The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help as it investigates a weekend homicide in which the body of a woman was found on the side of Interstate 25 near the Greenland Exit south of Larkspur.

The woman has been identified as 24-year-old Shelby Weatherly. Authorities are still investigating the cause and manner of death, according to a news release from sheriff's office on Oct. 2.

Sheriff's office deputies and Larkspur Fire were dispatched to the area where they located Weatherly's body after the Douglas County Regional Dispatch Center received reports of a body along the side of I-25 on Sept. 30.

The sheriff's office investigation division is following several tips, but is asking anyone with information or anyone who witnessed vehicles parked along southbound I-25 near the Greenland Exit, which is near mile marker 165.5, on Sept. 29 or early Sept. 30, to call the Investigations Tip Line at 303-660-7579. Callers may remain anonymous.

The sheriff's office is not releasing any more information about the case at this time.
