"Not broke don't fix it." The attempted recall of former Mayor Paul Donahue proved it is broke. Only voters in his district could vote on the recall, not a townwide vote to recall our mayor.
Mayor and a council person will reside in one district. Fact, this has happened twice since 2004 that the mayor and a councilperson lived in the same district. Less representation. Fact, residents will then have a councilperson and a mayor to represent their issues and concerns. Special interest money. Fact, special interest money has been contributed in the past to candidates campaigns. Form of government will change. False the form of government will remain the same as it is today, Council/manager form of government. Strong mayor. False, the mayor will remain a weak mayor.
Vote yes with me on Prop 300.
Randy Reed Former mayor of Castle Rock
