The American Legion Post 1187 in Castle Rock will be holding a Four Chaplains service at 2 p.m. on Feb. 11 at Emmaus Anglican Church, 995 N. Ridge Road. The service honors four chaplains who died in the North Atlantic during World War II.

The chaplains, from four different denominations and states, were on board the U.S.A.T. Dorchester on Feb. 2, 1943, when the ship was hit by a torpedo. The event is celebrated across the county in support of the Four Chaplains Memorial Foundation.

More information about the organization and the four chaplains can be found at fourchaplains.org.
