ChiliFest cooks up good time

Castle Rock came out to support Boy Scout Troop 780 on Sept. 9 at the 6 Annual ChiliFest — an annual fundraiser that supports the troop's high-adventure program and Boy Scout trips. Crockpots and slow cookers lined tables at the Douglas County Fairgrounds and Events Center and the smell of chili filled the room as people walked about, sampling each chili recipe. Local restaurants provided some of the chili, while family or friends of Boy Scouts brought in more batches. And the Scouts themselves rounded out the sampling menu by bringing in their favorite recipes as well to help out the cause.
