Castle Rock Adventist hosts open house at new emergency department

Posted

All year, Castle Rock residents and visitors have driven by the much-anticipated phase one of Centura Health's Castle Rock Adventist Health Campus. Everyone can get a sneak peek before the doors officially open by attending a special Community Open House on Sept. 1 from 4-7 p.m. Castle Rock Adventist Health Campus is located at 2350 Meadows Blvd. in Castle Rock.

"As a community, we feel extremely blessed to have Centura as a member of our community," said Castle Rock Mayor Paul Donahue.

This first phase of the health campus officially opens on Sept. 7, and boasts a 23,000-square-foot emergency department that is open 24 hours every day, and includes state-of-the-art medical imaging and laboratory services.

Attendees of the open house also will learn more about the phase two plans, which includes a recently approved 212,240-square-foot, four-story hospital with 50 licensed beds including intensive care, medical/surgical, obstetrics and neonatal intensive care, along with a full complement of hospital services such as three operating rooms, two dedicated cesarean-section operating suites and a cardiac catheterization lab. The $128 million hospital is financed by Adventist Health Systems. The hospital is expected to open in the summer of 2013. Additional growth on the hospital campus includes a 40,000-square-foot medical office building and extensive site development, expected to open as soon as summer 2012.

"We look forward to not only the health-related services (Castle Rock Adventist Health Campus) will be able to provide to the residents of Douglas County and the surrounding area, but also to the economic catalyst the campus has created for the town," Donahue said.

Frank Gray, president and CEO of Castle Rock Economic Development Council, agreed. "Since Centura first announced its plans for phase one, we saw an increase in the number of inquiries in space for doctors' offices and complementary health/wellness services. Having a larger employer also attracts additional retail, restaurants and other business to the area. The phase two announcement has created even more excitement." When both phases are complete, the project is expected to bring more than 300 new jobs to the Castle Rock community.

"Our mission is to nurture the health of the people in our community, and we are pleased to partner with the Castle Rock community to fulfill this mission. This new hospital will offer leading-edge medical technologies while providing a healing environment for our patients," said Brian Moore, administrator of Castle Rock Adventist Health Campus. "Many of our staff members live in Castle Rock and are looking forward to providing expert medical care to this growing and vibrant Colorado community."
