Castle Country Assisted Living CEO Barbara Dice named to national LeadingAge Academy

Posted

Barbara Dice, chief executive officer at Castle County Assisted Living, has been named as one of only 32 fellows in the national 2012 LeadingAge Leadership Academy.

The Academy is a year-long program designed to further educate aging services leaders nationwide. The program provides a challenging learning environment that enhances the leadership capacity of aging-services professionals so they are better equipped to serve the aging-services field.

Applicants undergo a thorough examination process, with many applying multiple times over several years. The class of 2012 will convene in October at LeadingAge's Annual Meeting & Global Aging Conference in Washington, D.C. Following the meeting, Dice and other fellows will meet four times to learn about innovative programs and meet with leaders from the field. Dice is the only aging services professional from Colorado to receive this honor.

Castle County is a nonprofit company operating three assisted living facilities in the Castle Rock area. Dice has led Castle Country for more than six years.

"I am honored to be selected for the LeadingAge Leadership Academy Class of 2012," Dice said. "As a fellow of the academy, I'm looking forward to the graduate level of education on the science of leadership and the opportunity to know some of the most extraordinary leaders in our field.

Dice said she is also excited about her fellowship benefiting Castle Country Assisted Living. She said she intends to bring what she learns and experiences at the Academy to Castle Rock to benefit residents and staff.
