The Stars of Tomorrow competition is set to showcase the top finishers in the 2013 Kiwanis Club event.

Nearly 30 students from Douglas County schools made the final cut for the annual talent show, where the Kiwanis Club of Castle Rock distributes scholarships up to $1,800.

The winners of the Douglas County competition also get an invitation to the Kiwanis District Stars of Tomorrow, where they aim for additional scholarships, according to the Kiwanis Club of Castle Rock.

The start time of this year’s show was moved ahead to give every finalist sufficient stage time for their performances, said Ron Claussen, Kiwanis spokesman.

The Kiwanis Club of Castle Rock Stars of Tomorrow talent show is at 6 p.m., March 2 at the Lone Tree Arts Center, 10075 Commons Street, Lone Tree, 80124. Tickets are $10 each and are for sale online at lonetreeartscenter.org or at the door on March 2.
