Penny Parker to write for Colorado Community Media
Well-known columnist and reporter Penny Parker will bring her coverage of metro-area happenings, personalities and society news to the pages of 17 Colorado Community Media newspapers and 16 of the group’s websites beginning this month.
Parker, who gained a widespread following at the Rocky Mountain News and The Denver Post, said her new weekly column — “Mile High Life” — would bring the excitement and culture of the Mile High City to 300,000 readers from Thornton to Castle Rock.
“No matter where we live, we want to take advantage of the best the city has to offer,” said Parker, who made her name covering celebrities, chefs, business magnates, and TV and radio personalities. Her new column will give suburban readers a taste of Denver’s nightlife and high-profile events, while tipping them to suburban happenings, as well.
Jerry Healey, Colorado Community Media publisher, said the addition of the Penny Parker column is just one of a string of improvements to the newspapers, which earlier this year became the second largest media group in Colorado.
“Penny is a great addition to our print and digital products,” Healey said. “She has a large following, and our readers will enjoy reading about Penny’s weekly adventures at the hot spots she frequents.”
“Mile High Life” will be published beginning the week of June 25. The column will appear in newspapers serving Arvada, Castle Rock, Centennial, Englewood, Golden, Highlands Ranch, Lakewood, Littleton, Lone Tree, Northglenn, Parker, Thornton, Westminster and Wheat Ridge and on their accompanying websites.
