Douglas County and Castle View grads brave rain, wind for diplomas

Rain and wind weren't enough to quell the excitement at Castle View High School's fifth commencement ceremony.

Parents, grandparents and siblings of Castle View's graduates huddled under umbrellas at Red Rocks Amphitheater May 22, while the seniors held onto their caps to keep them from blowing away.

Faculty speaker Charlie Glinche delivered an entertaining speech to open the ceremony, and the voices of the school's most talented singers carried through the chasm that is the beloved concert venue.

And while the rains had stopped by the following morning back in Castle Rock, the wind kept graduation caps blowing all over as Douglas County High School celebrated its big day at the school's football stadium.

A class that will be remembered fondly for their giving ways, the DCHS Class of 2013 came together in purple for one final time.
